Privacy Policy

AskOnChat is your agent on all your channels 24/7. AskOnChat helps businesses operate customer conversations, customer records, approvals, and related workflow tools across messaging channels such as web chat, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp. This policy explains how we handle information for the AskOnChat website, checkout, and product.
This policy distinguishes two roles. A business (or operator) is our customer: the organization that uses AskOnChat to manage its conversations. An end user is a person who contacts a business through a channel that the business has connected to AskOnChat. Businesses are the controllers of their end-user data; AskOnChat acts as their service provider and processor.
Information we process
We process account information, workspace information, billing status, customer conversation content, CRM records, integration metadata, usage logs, website contact requests, billing and payment-provider metadata, and support communications.
When a business connects a messaging channel, we also process the end-user data that the channel makes available so we can deliver the conversation. Depending on the channel this can include the end user's name, profile picture, platform-scoped identifiers, phone number (for WhatsApp), message content, attachments, and message metadata such as timestamps and delivery status.
Information from Meta platforms
Businesses may connect Facebook Pages and Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp using Meta's official APIs. When they do, we receive and process the messages and the limited profile information those APIs provide, only to deliver the messaging features the business has enabled: receiving incoming messages, showing them in the business inbox, routing and assigning them, and sending the business's replies, including supervised AI-assisted replies.
We use data obtained from Meta platforms only to provide and improve these features for the business that connected the channel. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it except with the subprocessors described below or as required by law. Our use of data obtained from Meta platforms complies with Meta's Platform Terms and Developer Policies.
How we use information
We use information to provide the product, authenticate users, route conversations, meter usage, operate billing, support subscriptions, secure the service, improve reliability, and respond to business requests.
AI processing
Conversation content may be processed by AI model providers to draft replies, summarize conversations, and propose actions for the operator to review. We send these providers only what is needed to perform the task, and we do not permit them to use business or end-user content to train their general models.
Customer data
Businesses are responsible for the data they collect through their configured channels and integrations, including obtaining any consent required to message end users. AskOnChat acts as a service provider for that customer data and uses it only to provide and secure the service.
Security
We use access controls, audit-oriented logs, encrypted transport, and operational safeguards designed for business software. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce risk and investigate suspicious activity.
Subprocessors and integrations
AskOnChat may connect with identity, billing, email, calendar, messaging, CRM, AI model, infrastructure, and observability providers. These include Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp) for messaging, Google for calendar workflows, and payment, hosting, and AI model providers. They help us deliver login, checkout, subscriptions, notifications, calendar workflows, customer messaging, AI responses, hosting, and support operations. The exact providers may depend on the workspace configuration.
Retention
We retain information while an account is active, while needed to provide the service, or while required for security, legal, billing, or operational reasons. When a business disconnects a channel or deletes a conversation, we delete the associated channel content within a commercially reasonable period unless we must retain it for those purposes.
Your choices and rights
Workspace owners can request access, correction, export, or deletion of account data where applicable. Depending on where they live, end users may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export their personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Some records may be retained when required for billing, security, audit, or legal obligations.
Data deletion
You can request deletion of your data at any time. Operators can delete data from within the product or by writing to hello@askonchat.com. End users who messaged a business through a connected channel can request deletion by following the instructions at https://askonchat.com/user-deletion, which describe exactly what is deleted and the timeline.
International transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Children
AskOnChat is a business product and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product and our obligations change. We will update the date above when we do.
